Megjithatë, të vjetërit ende kanë nevojë për të vizituar një dentist, pasi ata janë në rrezik më të madhë të zhvillimit të kancerit të fytit dhe gojës (sidomos ata që pijnë duhan apo alkool në mënyrë kronike). Për ata me proteza, Bomkamp( organizat që bëri studimin) thot se: ”Shumë pacientëve të moshuar mendojnë se ata nuk duhet të shkonin tek dentisti” por ështe e kunderta, ky grup i të moshuarve duhet të vizitojnë dentistin: nese mishrat e dhëmbëve janë të skuqur dhe të fryrë, kjo mund të jetë një shenjë se protezat tuaja nuk përshtaten më.
