Ndërsa romakët ishin të etur për ta bërë të njohur kulturën e tyre në të gjithë Perandorinë, ata ndërtuan ndoshta ndërtesën më mbresëlënëse në historinë e tyre në Azinë e Vogël, veçanërisht Bibliotekën Celsus në Efes, Anadoll, tani pjesë e Turqisë. E ndërtuar në vitin 135 pas Krishtit, për nder të Tiberius Julius Celso Polemaeanus. Biblioteka tani konsiderohet si një nga monumentet më të bukura historike dhe kulturore në Turqi. Biblioteka Celsus kishte rreth 12000 rrotulla pergamena, përkatësisht dorëshkrime me vlerë të madhe për ato kohë. Megjithatë, dashuria e Tiberius Iulius Celsus Polemaeanus për librat u reflektua në ndërtimin e kësaj biblioteke mbresëlënëse, prandaj djali i tij vendosi që Celsus të varrosej nën bibliotekën aktuale në hyrjen kryesore.
