23 vjet ne gjendje koma ka arritur te degjoje gjithcka pasi truri i tij ishte ne gjendje aktive por ai nuk arrinte ta shprehte me gjeste kete gje.
Behet fjale per nje shtetas belg te qujtur Rom Houben, i cili ka dale nga koma e gjate pas me shume se dy dekadash. Ai tashme eshte 46 vjec dhe shprehet se gjate gjithe kohesenderronte te ngrihej ne kembe. "Ulerija gjate gjithe kohes por asgje nuk degjohej", thekson ai.
Sipas doktorit Laureys nga Universiteti i Liezhit, pacienti ka qene i vetedijshem gjate gjithe kesaj kohe. Ne nje studim te kryer vitin e shkuar me 103 paciente ne koma, doktori ka zbuluar se 41 % e tyre ishin ne gjendje vegjetative.
Sipas Daniel Hanley, gjendja vegjetative eshte ku pacientet arrijne te kuptojne ate qe thuhet por nuk mund ta demostrojne kete me fjale apo gjeste trupi. Caroline Schnakers, shprehet se shume mjeke nuk arrijne ta dallojne gjendjen vegjetative pasi shpesh here kryejne diagnoza mbi bazen e vezhgimeve te sjelljes se nje pacienti ne vend qe t’i vleresojne duke perdorur teste standarte.
Ajo shtoi se duke perdorur teste standarte, mund te pakesohet ndjeshem numri i pacienteve te klasifikuar ne gjendje jo-vegjetative.
 
Nuk ka qen ne kome 23 vj, por ka qen i paralizuar mbas nje aksidenti me makine.
Mjeket se kan kuptuar atehere, dhe e konsideruan ne gjendje kome.
Por fale familjes qe nuk e "dorzoj luften", dhe e mban ne jete, pak para nje ekip doktoresh deshen te bejne disa investigime dhe ne nje CT ose MRI u zbulua qe njeriu eshte i gjall.
