Te jetosh ne Tirane per nje te huaj është pothuajse po aq shtrenjte sa ne Sofje, edhe pse Bullgaria është pjese e BE-se, ndërsa Shqipëria jo, si edhe me shtrenjte se kryeqytetet e vendeve te tjera te rajonit, si Maqedonia, Serbia e Bosnje Hercegovina. Ky është verdikti i Indeksit te Kostos se Jetesës 2016, publikuar se fundmi nga institute “Mercer”. Anketa vjetore përfshin ne total 209 qytete botërore, ku Tirana mban vendin e 186-te, referuara vlerësimeve per koston e shtëpive, transportin, ushqimin, veshjet, etj. Beogradi rezulton te jete nje qytet me i lire per te jetuar per nje shtetas te huaj sesa Tirane, ne vend te 193-te, ashtu si Sarajeva ne vend te 195, ndersa Shkupi rezulton mes dhjete qyteteve me te lira ne bote per te jetuar, ne vend te 199. Ne anen tjeter, Hong Kongu rezulton te jete qyteti me i shtrenjte per te huajt, ndjekur nga Luanda ne Angola dhe Zyrihu. Ne nje studim te publikuar ne muajin shkurt nga i njëjti institut, Tirana ishte mes tre qyteteve te fundit ne Europe persa i përket cilesise se te jetuarit.thealbanian
