Të paktën 43 persona kanë humbur jetën nga zjarret masive që përfshinë qendrën e vendit.

Shumë persona humbën jetën në përpjekje për tu larguar me makinat e tyre nga Pedrَgمo Grande, 50 km në juglindje të Coimbra, bënë të ditur burime zyrtare.
