Karriera e Penn nisi ne vitin 40 me 'Vogue'. La revisten ne vitin 1944 per te hyre ne ushtri, por u rikthye pas dy vitesh.

Ne vitet '50, vendosi te fotografoje njerez te famshem, sikur te ishin te thjeshte.

PeLqente fotot ne studio, sidomos ato me sfond te erret. Nder me te famshmet ishin ato me Miles Davis, Spencer Tracy, Georgia O’Keeffe e Pablo Picasso.
