Gjenerali që e ka paralajmëruar disa çaste para sulmit që puçistët do t’i bënin hotelit në të cilin ishte i vendosur presidenti Turqisë, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ishte komandanti i ushtrisë së parë Gjenerali i Përgjithshëm Umit Dunda me prejardhje shqiptare nga Ferizaj i Kosovës.
