Mjeku shqiptaro-amerikan, Rifat Latifi, drejtor i projektit të telemjekësisë në Ballkan, thotë se pa një mjekёsi moderne dhe tё fuqishme nuk mund tё kёtё as demokraci tё mirёfilltë e as siguri dhe pavarësi tё plotё. Duke kritikuar gjendjen e shëndetësisë në Kosovë, doktor Latifi, thotë se fusha e mjekёsisë mbledh ndër kuadrot më të spikatura qё ka njё vend, por nё Kosovё, sipas tij, kёto vlera ende nuk po kuptohen. Dr. Latifi është shef i pavionit të ndihmës së shpejtë në spitalin e Universitetit të Arizonës.
