Ai tha se EULEX-i do të veprojë sipas Rezolutës 1244, që është e paanshme ndaj statusit, por efekti i vendosjes së misionit, sipas tij, do të jetë konsolidimi i institucioneve të Kosovës.

Misioni i EULEX-it, tha ai, do të veprojë në një Kosovë të pavarur, të pandarë dhe sovrane.

Z.Fried tha se Kosovës i është njohur e drejta sovrane që ta kundërshtojë gjashtëpikëshin e OKB-së dhe shtoi se çdo marrëveshje në të ardhmen duhet të negociohet, të diskutohet dhe të konsultohet me qeverinë e Kosovës.

Ndihmëssekretari amerikan i Shtetit e vlerësoi si shumë të suksesshme dhe të rëndësishme mbledhjen e Këshillit të Sigurimit të OKB-së, ku u miratua një Deklaratë Presidenciale, me të cilën mundësohet vendosja e misionit evropian për drejtësi dhe polici./bbc
