Ndeja bamirëse e Sir Elton John pas ndarjes së çmimeve Oskar ka qenë një hit pasi këngëtari ka mbledhur plot 3.7 milionë dollarë brenda vetëm disa orësh.

John dhe partneri i tij David Furnish ftuan një varg fytyrash të famshme përfshirë Betty White, Nicole Richie dhe Victoria Beckham, për të ndjekur festën e 18-të vjetore, që mbledh para për të luftuar AIDS-in.

Pas darkës luksoze dhe performacës nga Grace Jones, mysafirët morën pjesë në një ankand ‘live’, ku John shiti kostumet e tij të cilat i kishte veshur në Grammy Awards në muajin janar për 30 mijë dollarë dhe një orë nga koleksioni i tij për 90 mijë dollarë.

Po ashtu u shitën edhe fotografi nga koha e kolegjit të presidentit amerikan Barack Obama (60 mijë dollarë) dhe një kurs privat tenisi nga çifti Andre Agassi dhe Steffi Graff, që solli 70 mijë dollarë.
