Ylli Polar është ylli më i ndritshëm në yjësinë, Arusha e Vogël. Yllin polar mund ta quajmë edhe ylli alfa i Arushës së vogël, sepse është ylli më i ndritshëm i kësaj yjësie. Ai gjendet pothuajse saktësisht në zgjatimin e vijës imagjinare që bashkon Polin e Jugut me Polin e Veriut të Tokës sonë dhe për këtë arsye ka qenë dhe është ende një udhërrëfyes shumë i rëndësishëm për t'u orientuar dhe për të gjetur Veriun. Ylli Polar gjendet 430 vjet drite larg tokës.
