Nihilizmi është qëndrimi që e zhvesh perceptimin apo interpretimin e realitetit nga vlerat që njeriu (kryesisht shoqëria) iu imponon objekteve dhe dukurive. Nihilizmi pohon se objektet dhe dukuritë nuk kanë asnjë vlerë prej vetvete, përveç atyre që ne vetë iu imponojmë, ndaj dhe për njohjen dhe parashikimin e realitetit është e domosdoshme që këto vlera të mos merren parasysh, duke qenë se në të shumtën e rasteve burojnë si shkak i emocioneve, ideologjive, utilitarianizmit, apo marrëveshjeve shoqërore, sesa nga perceptimi objektiv, duke e shtrembëruar kësisoj perceptimin, apo parashikimin e realitetit.

Si i tillë, nihilizmi rreshtohet krah objektivizmit si zbatuesi kryesor i këtij në njohjen e realitetit.
