Ne qender te Afrikes eshte gjendur nje krater i madh i shkaktuar nga renia e ndonje asteroidi apo nje komete me diameter rreth dy kilometra.
Unaza e madhe e madhe me diameter 36-46 kilometra eshte gjetur ne Kongo.

Zbulimi eshte bere nga shkencetare italiane dhe eshte prezantuar ne Teksas ne ditet e kaluara gjate nje konference te Shkences Lunare dhe Planetare. Ky krater shenon nje rekord ne mes 50 te tjerave te regjistruara deri me sot ne siperfaqen e tokes. Ne qender te unazes terreni eshte i thelle rreth 60 metra.

Krateri me i madh eshte 300 kilometra ne gadishullin e Jukatan, qe mendohet te kete ndodhur 65 milione vite me pare.(tch)
