Dy asteroide të mëdhenj përveç asteroidit te njohur “Apophis” përbejnë kërcenim për Token, orbita e të cilëve do të duhet të ndryshohet për të shmangur përplasjen. Për këtë deklaroi Presidenti i Korporatës Raketo-kozmike "Energia" Vitaliy Lopota.

Për të parandaluar kërcënimin nevojitet një raketambajtës me kapacitet ngritës rreth 70 ton, i cili do të nxjerrë në trajektoren e kapjes së asteroidit një aparat kozmik që është i aftë të ndryshojë trajektoren e tij, deklaroi Vitaliy Lopota.

Sipas fjalëve të tij, ka mundësi që për këtë të përdoren anije kozmike me energji bërthamore ose diellore, të cilat mund t’i japin asteroidit ngarkesë termoberthamore.

Apophis eshte i vetmi asteroid momental dhe me madhesi te konsiderushme per te shkaktuar dem ne toke (i tille qe do i afrohet afer). Nuk ka te tjere momentalisht dhe nuk ka konfirmim nga organizata nderkombetare e astronomise per asteroide te tjera qe kercenojne. Gjithsesi kto jane Near Earth Objects (NEO), objekte te cilat monitorohen me kujdes nga astronomet.
