Pas barazimit pa gola kundër Zelandës së Re, Paraguai ka siguruar kualifikimin në fazën e eliminimit direkt të Kampionatit Botëror nga vendi i parë në Grupin F.

Paraguaianët e dominuan ndeshjen në tërësi, por nuk arritën të shënojnë dot në portën e zelandezëve.

Përkundër barazimit pa gola, Paraguai del fitues i Grupit F me pesë pikë, ndërsa Zelanda e Re largohet kokëlartë nga Kampionati Botëror me tre pikë në pozitën e tretë, duke e lënë prapa kampionin e botës, Italinë. Paraguai në 1/8 e finales takohet me të dytin e Grupit F. /Telegrafi/
