Indeksi më i madh i masës trupore është i lidhur me rrezikun më të lartë të vdekshmërisë së femrave të sëmura nga kanceri i gjirit, pohojnë shkencëtarët britanikë.Sipas revistës britanike, “Journal of Clinical Oncology”, përveç mbipeshës, faktorë shtesë të rrezikut janë edhe shtatzënia e hershme dhe numri i madh i lindjeve.

Sipas hulumtuesve nga Universiteti i Cambridget, femrat me indeks më të madh të masës trupore (BMI) kanë qenë për 52% më të rrezikuara për të vdekur nga kanceri i gjirit.
