Valamara është mal me lartësi 2373 m në kufirin midis rrethit të Korçës, atij të Gramshit dhe të Pogradecit.

Në veri kufizohet me Gurin e Topit, kurse në jug me Lenien.

Është i ndërtuar kryesisht nga shkëmbinj ultrabazikë. Ka forma të shumta të relievit akullnajor dhe liqene akullnajore (mbi 1600 m).

Në shpatin lindor buron lumi Shkumbin, kurse në atë perëndimor dhe juglindor Devolli.

Bimësia përbëhet nga pyje ahu e pishe në pjesën e ulët dhe nga kullota të pasura verore në pjesën e sipërme.
