Ibn Sina (Avicena) rreth perdorimit te mjekesise se re

Ne veprat e tij voluminoze , Ibn Sina (981-1-37 e.r) percaktoi rregullat e meposhtme per testimin e efektivitetit te nje ilaci ose mjekimi te ri. Keto principe akoma formojne bazat e klinikes moderne mbi provimin e ilaceve.

1. Ilaci s'duhet te kete asnje cilesi te jashtme qofte kjo edhe e rastesishme.

2. Ne fillim duhet te perdoret ne nje semundje te thjeshte.

3. Ilaci duhet te provohet me dy lloje te kunderta semundjesh, sepse ndonjehere nje ilac sheron nje semundje me cilesite e tij thelbesore dhe here te tjera me cilesite e tij te rastesishme.

4. Cilesia e ilacit duhet te korrespondoje me fortesine e semundjes. Per shembull, nxehtesia e disa ilaceve eshte me e vogel se sa ftohtesia e semundjes keshtu qe nuk kane efekt mbi keto semundje.

5. Koha e veprimit duhet te vrojtohet, ne menyre qe esenca dhe veprimi te mos ngaterrohen.

6. Efekti i ilacit duhet te shihet gjate veprimit te vazhdueshem ose ne shume raste, nqs kjo nuk ndodh, mund te quhet si nje efekt i rastesishem.

7. Eksperimentimi duhet te behet me trup njerezor, pasi nqs eksperimentohet psh mbi nje luan ose kale mundet te mos te mos jape te njejtat rezultate kur provohet ne trupin e njeriut.
