Spanjolli Alberto Contador i skuadrës së Saxo Bank është fituesi i Turit të Spanjës (Vuelta) 2012, duke e fituar për herë të dytë këtë trofe, pas atij të fituar në vitin 2008.

Spanjolli iu rikthye çiklizmit pas përfundimit të pezullimit 6-mujorsh të dhënë nga autoritetet e drejtësisë sportive për përdorim doping.
Në etapën e fundit, Cercedilla-Madrid, 115 kilometra e gjatë, Contador la pas gjermanin John Degenkolb dhe realizoi synimin e tij për katër fitore në Vuelta-n e Spanjës.

Ky është rikthimi më i mirë i mundshëm për Contador që 34 ditë para nisjes së rrethi ciklistik të Spanjës, përfundoi dënimin 6-mujorsh. Ai u dënua në vitin 2010 gjatë Turit të Francës për përdorimin e clenbuterolit, e vendosur tek substancat e ndaluara për sportistët.
