Shkenca e astronomise ben nje hap gjigand. Njeriu po njeh perhere e me shume hapesiren e erret qe rrethon Token. Ne konferencen “Drejt tokave te tjera” qe u zhvillua ne Oporto, drejtuesit e HARPS (High Accuracy Radial Planet Search) kane publikuar zbulimin e 32 planeteve te rinj jashte sistemit tone diellor ne galaktiken e Rruges se Qumeshtit. Projekti per zbulimin e tyre nisi 5 vjet me pare dhe u drejtua nga Michel Mayor ne Observatorin e Gjeneves. Celesi i suksesit ka qene nje pajisje 3.6 metra e instaluar ne “European Southern Observatory”. Behet fjale per nje spektroskop me rezolucion te larte dhe shume te sakte.

Organizata HARPS ka zbuluar 75 planete jashte sistemit diellor gjate 5 viteve te fundit ne rreth 30 sisteme planetare te ndryshem. Deri tani te gjithe gjahtaret e planeteve ne mare boten kane zbuluar 400 planete jashte sistemit diellor. Identikitet e planeteve jane nga me te ndryshmit. Te vegjel, shume te medhenj, te njejte ne Token. Shumllojshmeria e planeteve te zbuluar ka ndihmuar astronomet te dalin ne perfundimin se sistemet e ndryshme diellore kane karakteristikat e tyre, jo domosdoshmerisht te njejta me sistemin tone.
